The Black datura,more commonly known as Kala datura is a rare plant of great medicinal importance,it belongs to the family Solanaceae .Its botanical name is Datura Metel.The peculiarity of this plant is that it produces deep purple- violet trumpet shaped flowers unlike the the more common variety that produces white flowers and can be seen growing on a bushy area.Lord Shiva is very fond of the datura flowers. Offering black or the kala datura on the lingam ,invites special grace of shiva on the devotee.The Kala datura can be recognised by its black lustruous stem and the leaves that has black spotted marks on the back side of the leaves.A must have for the house.Keep a Black datura plant along with Krishna Varna Tulsi in a decent size earthern Pot on the North-East direction of your home in a way that it faces towards the right side when you enter your home main gate.
